The historic and quaint community of Yankeetown, Florida is located in the south west part of Levy County, bordered by the
Withlacoochee River to the south and the Gulf of Mexico to the west. Yankeetown is one of the last waterfront gems. It is
reminiscent of old Florida when times were less complicated and life was slower. Yankeetown is located in the Big Bend section of
the Gulf Coast. The Withlacoochee River is an outstanding Florida Waterway and creates a boundary between Citrus and Levy
Counties.
The Withlacoochee River is one of two rivers in the State of Florida that flow north. It is also the deepest river on the West Coast,
between Tarpon Springs and Carabelle. Lake Rousseau and the backwaters were created when the Withlacoochee was dammed

this area offers a variety of water recreation which includes some of the best fresh and salt water fishing in Florida.
This area of Florida offers the best hunting around. We have an abundance of deer, hogs, dove, quail, wild turkeys and Osceola
turkeys.
